Winifred M. Thatcher

Winifred M. Thatcher, 80, of Gibsonburg, OH. died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the home of her son in Helena, OH. She was born June 13, 1926 in Elmore, OH to the late Fred and Marie (Haar) Jeremy. She was a 1944 graduate of the former Harris-Elmore High School. In 1949 she married Frank Thatcher and he survives. Winifred was a homemaker, and also assisted her husband in his dry cleaning business, Portage Cleaners, in Woodville, OH. A member of Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church in Luckey, she loved to read, discover history, and feed the farm cats. Survivors include her husband, Frank, of Gibsonburg; son, Jay (Georgia) Thatcher of Helena, daughters; Charlene and Amy Thatcher both of Gibsonburg; and her sister, Lois Jean Taft of Elmore. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and abrother-in-law Edward Taft. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Wednesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore, where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Elmore.
