William S. Eberle, 60, left on his journey, Monday, August 7, 2023 after a brief fight with leukemia. He was born June 4, 1963 in Lakewood, OH to the late Frederick and Loretta “Laurie” (Jarosz) Eberle. He was a 1981 graduate of Port Clinton High School. He was employed by First Energy in Lindsey, OH as a Field Collector.
Bill was many things to many people. He was the former Mayor of the Village of Oak Harbor and also served on Village Council; was on the St. Boniface Finance Committee; member of Council 1944 of the Knights of Columbus and served as Financial Secretary; and the job he loved most, being Santa for numerous girls and boys including the Knights of Columbus and Lights at North Coast (Monsoon Lagoon). He was a very good friend to many people.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, ShirLee, and 2 bonus children: Stephanie Ried and Joshua (Courtney) Morse; grandchildren: Xavier & Xander Ried, Mason, Maverick, Kenley, and Ainsley Morse. He was met by his father, mother, brother Joseph C. Eberle, and a host of grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 4-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Graveside Services and Burial will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Knights of Columbus or Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.crosserpriesmanfuneralhome.com.
