William M. Horbus

William M. Horbus, 89, of Marblehead, OH, died Monday, February 13, 2006 at Stein Hospice Care Center of Sandusky, Ohio. He was born May 29, 1916 in Hastings, New York, son of the late Michael and Nastazia (Pevehimiz) Horbus. Mr. Horbus was an electrician for the Caterpillar Corporation, retiring in 1977. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Danbury Senior Citizens and the VFW Post 7572 of Marblehead. He married the former Sue S. Sorokin on Sept 27, 1941, and she preceded him in death on October 17, 2004. Mr. Horbus is survived by his sons, Steven (Marlene) Horbus, Vermilion, OH and Mitchell Horbus, Hope NJ; granddaughter, Heather Sue (Mike) Housel; grandson, Craig Steven Horbus; great-granddaughters, Kendra Housel and Lauren Housel. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Harry Horbus; and a sister, Alexandra 'Elsie' Bradley. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 25, at the VFW Post 7572, 421 W. Main Street, Marblehead. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, OH, VFW Post 7572, Marblehead, or Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH.
