William J Feczer, Sr

William J. Feczer, Sr., 75, of Catawba Island, passed away on Friday March 27, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 12, 1933 in Passaic, NJ to loving parents John and Estelle (Gola) Feczer. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War. Bill then went on to graduate from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ in 1968. Bill was employed by Uniroyal Rubber Company in Passaic and was transferred to Port Clinton in 1972. He retired as a manager of Quality Assurance from Uniroyal (Scandura) after 44 years of service. Bill was an honorary member of Athenia Veterans Post in Clifton, NJ. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 113 and the Elk's Lodge in Port Clinton. He was a devout parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church. In 1955 he married Josephine Mineo in Lodi, NJ. In 2005, Bill and Josephine celebrated their wonderful lives together at a 50th anniversary celebration held at the Catawba Island Club. Bill enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, along with bowling, golfing, playing cards and rooting for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John Feczer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Josephine; sister Joan Kintz of Hawaii; son William (Rita) Feczer, Jr. of Findlay; daughter Diane (David) Belden of Port Clinton; eight grandchildren Brian (Heather) Belden of Norwalk, Kevin (Nina) Belden of Port Clinton, Timothy and Melinda Belden of Port Clinton, Matthew, Rebecca, Stephen and Amy Feczer of Findlay and four great grandchildren Meghan and Elizabeth of Norwalk and Isabella and Keanoh of Port Clinton. Friends may call from 2-5 and 6-8 pm Sunday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton. The Rev. John C. Missler will officiate. Burial will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Stein Hospice or the Immaculate Conception Parish.
