William H. Becker

William H. Becker, 88, of Port Clinton, passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, October 19, 2022. He was born December 7, 1933 in Cleveland, OH the son of Ralph and Virginia Becker. Bill graduated from Collinwood High School in the Class of 1952. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He married Donna (Zarlinga) Sakacs on November 21, 1987 and she survives. Bill was a salesman for Prudential Insurance and Brush-Wellman. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton and the Port Clinton Elks Lodge. An avid fisherman, gardener, gun collector and general “fix it” guy, Bill was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and he volunteered at the National Matches held at Camp Perry. Until recent health issues, Bill and Donna were active volunteers of the annual Port Clinton Walleye Festival.

Surviving are his wife: Donna; daughter: Dr. Karen (Tom Evans) Becker of Poland, OH; son: William (Angie) Becker of Akron; step-son: Nick Sakacs of Cleveland; grandsons: Timothy (Samantha) Becker, Bradley Becker; great-grandson: Ronald James Becker; step-grandchildren: Ashley (James) Papadelis, Andrew (Karin) Sakacs; step-great-grandchildren: Agape Papadelis, Nikita Papadelis, Hailey Sakacs, Killian Sakacs; step-grandniece: Jacqualyn Randall and family and his beloved golden retriever, Sophia. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Virginia Becker; first wife: Janet M. (Wilkins); and daughter: Kathleen M. Becker.

A Celebration of Life and funeral service will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 10:00 am. Pastor Beverly Collingsworth will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action or the donors choice.
