William G. Almroth

William G. "Bill" Almroth, 85, of Elmore, Ohio, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on October 15, 1926, in Trowbridge, Ohio, a son of Clarence & Grace (Jones) Almroth. Bill was a 1944 graduate of Harris-Elmore High School and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Bill was a 60 year member of American Legion Post #279 in Elmore. He was a partner in Almroth Block Company, and started Bill's Masonry in 1967, from which he retired. On November 20, 1948, Bill married the former Joan Keil in Woodville, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving is his son, Charles (Nancy) Almroth, Elmore; grandsons, Charles (Cindy) Almroth, Jr. and Eric (Nichole) Almroth; and great-grandchildren, Nickolas, Libbey, Blake, Cole, and Keil Almroth. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Almroth; sister, Geraldine Schroeder, and father and mother-in-law, Kendall and Lorene Keil. Friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. S.R. 51, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday. Rev. William Bartholomew will officiate, and interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio or St. John's United Church of Christ.
