William E. Schlipf, 83, of Rocky Ridge, OH died Friday, October 17, 2008 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born April 12, 1925 in Rocky Ridge, OH to the late William and Anna (Hoeft) Schlipf. On December 9, 1943 he married the former Susan Sarnes who preceded him in death May 10, 2008. Mr. Schlipf was a United States Army Veteran of WW II, of which he became disabled. He retired from Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton working over 30 years in the Motor Room repairing motors. He was a past member of the Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Rocky Ridge Village Council, Vice- Mayor of Rocky Ridge, Portage Valley Flying Club in Elmore, Oak Harbor Lodge #495 F. & A.M., Oak Harbor V.F.W. Post 8732, Disabled Veterans, and St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge. Survivors include his daughter Beverly (William) Kaiser of Graytown, OH; son Dennis Schlipf of Millbury, OH; brother Roger (Joeva) Schlipf of Lacarne, OH; grandchildren: Kevin Schlipf, Kelly Meek, Tracy (Brooke) Schlipf, Lori Schlipf, Sarah (Joe) Sawdy, Shanna (Brian) Ninke, Jennifer (Brandon Schwind) Kaiser, Jill (Brett Klimkowsky) Kaiser; great-grandchildren: Cole Kaiser, Benjamin Jensen, Kendall Sawdy; step-great-grandchildren: Derik, Danielle, and Laura Hurley. He was also preceded in death by his son: Terry Schlipf; brothers: Clarence, Lawrence, Harvey, Lester, and Emil Schlipf. Visitation will be Monday from 2-7:30pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor with the family present from 2-4 & 6-7:30pm. Masonic Services will begin at 7:30pm by Oak Harbor Lodge # 495 F. & A.M. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery with Military Honors given by Oak Harbor American Legion Post 114 and Oak Harbor V.F.W Post 8732. Memorial Contributions can be made to either: Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, St. John Lutheran Church (Rocky Ridge), Calvary Bible Chapel East, or Donor's Choice.
