William E. "Bill" Lehner

William E. "Bill" Lehner, 89, of Catawba Island passed away April 6, 2020 at his home. He was born January 3, 1931 in Norton, Ohio the son of Ellis and Gladys (Bailey) Lehner. He graduated from Willis High School in Delaware, Ohio in 1949. He served 28 years in the Army retiring with the rank of Major. He married the former Nancy Ann Collier and she survives. Bill and Nancy moved to Catawba Island from Delaware in 1998. For over 30 years Bill sold equipment to the food industry, concentrating on the harvesting/processing sector. He spent a vast portion of his career flying the company plane, servicing customers and accounts from coast to coast. Bill was an obsessed fisherman and he enjoyed boating on Lake Erie. He was an avid pilot, owning several airplanes over the years. Surviving are his wife: Nancy; son: Rex E. (Julia Kay Ginn) Lehner of Catawba Island; grandchildren: Stacie, Kristie, Leslie; great-grandson: Mason. He was preceded in death by his sons: William M. Lehner, Patrick E. Lehner; brothers: Jim Lehner, Jim Lehner and David Lehner. Funeral services will be private. Interment will take place in Delaware, Ohio.
