Wilferd F. "Willie" Foss

Wilferd F. Foss, 88, formerly of Oak Harbor, Ohio died Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria, OH. Willie was born March 7, 1933 in Graytown, OH to the late Fred and Mayme (Helle) Foss. On May 28, 1955 he married Audrey Camper and she preceded him in death in 2019. Willie attended high school in Gibsonburg and Oak Harbor where he was an FFA State Farmer. After graduation from Oak Harbor High School in 1951, he followed his passion and became a lifelong farmer. He attended St. John’s United Church of Christ in Genoa and was very active in the Elmore Lions Club. Willie enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, listening to country music, and occasionally going to the casino. He had a great sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. Later in life, Willie enjoyed cooking and baking and especially liked frying and eating Lake Erie perch. Survivors include son Michael (Wendy) Foss of Fostoria, OH; daughter Laurie (David) Cody of Findlay, OH; 5 grandchildren Zachary Foss, Aaron Foss, Jon (Melissa) Cody, Bill (Abigail) Cody, AJ Cody and one great-granddaughter Audrey Catherine Cody; siblings: Arnold (Donna) Foss, Phylis Humphries, and Charles (Donna) Foss. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Anna Mae Lenke, and son Ricky Foss. A graveside service will be held at Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, OH at 11 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
