Wayne S. Dill

March 17, 1946 — December 16, 2023

Wayne S. Dill, 77 of Oak Harbor, OH and Clarksville, TN, died Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Regency Hospital, Oregon, OH. He was born March 17, 1946 in Dover, Delaware to the late Paul R. and Beatrice N. (Hays) Dill. He was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and attended Pennsylvania Military College. On January 6, 1966, he married the former Kay Patton, and she survives.


In 1966 Wayne was employed at Inmont Corporation, in Toledo, OH as an interior color matcher. In 1976 he was hired by Chrysler Plastics in Sandusky, OH. In 1992 the Chrysler Plant sold, but he remained Color Department Manager. In June 1998, Wayne went to work as an Executive for the Chrysler Design Office in Auburn Hills, MI. He would retire November 30, 1998.


Wayne served the Masonic Fraternity faithfully for more than 50 years. In 1978 he was installed as Worshipful Master of Oak Harbor Lodge #495 F.& A.M. In 1985 he became District Deputy Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Ohio, Royal Arch Masons, and in 1996, he was installed as Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Ohio, Royal Arch Masons. Wayne was a member of all York Rite bodies and was the recipient of the Knights of the York Cross of Honor (KYCH). He was also a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo, where he was honored as a 33rd degree Mason.


He enjoyed hunting, golfing, watching Red Wings hockey and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. His greatest joy was fishing the waters of Onaman Lake in Canada and spending time on his boat, Jersey Girl, fishing for perch and walleye.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Kay of Oak Harbor; daughters: Tracey Voight of Clarksville, TN, Heather (Troy) Cairl of Curtice, OH, Rebecca (Wilson) Aaron of Fremont, and Arlene Stafford of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren: Sarah Voight, John (Kate) Voight, Alex Voight, Morgan Cairl, Ty Cairl, Faith Sams, Abigail Sams, and Daniel Sams; great-grandchildren: Kazi, Kolbey, Atticus, and Jaxson Voight; brothers Paul R. (Georgia) Dill Jr. of West Unity, OH and Gene (Becky) Dill of Polkton, NC.


Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 2-7 PM at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St., Oak Harbor. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 PM at the funeral home. Wayne's wishes were to be cremated and there will be no graveside services. Due to severe allergies in the family, it is asked that no live flowers be sent.
