Wayne L. Hasselbach

Wayne L. Hasselbach, 78, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, OH. He was born in rural Fremont on February 19, 1927, a son of Arthur F. & Clara (Nieman) Hasselbach. Wayne was a farmer, enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. He retired from Acme Cleveland in 1992, and was a former employee of Brush-Wellman, Elmore, and the former Kelsey-Hayes, Kingsway Plant. Wayne married the former Norma E. Smith on February 17, 1951, and she preceded him in death on August 13, 2001. Surviving are his daughters, Janet (Jim) Quaintance and Vicki (Greg) Harrell, both of Clyde, OH; brother, Lyle (Eileen) Hasselbach, Oak Harbor; sisters, Phyllis (Robert) Haynes, Oak Harbor, and Margaret (Carl) Miller, Fremont; grandchildren, Josh & Ryan Harrell, Justin & Chris Witmer, Gina Preston, Jyl & Jodi Quaintance; and great-grandchildren, Kennedi & Karsyn Preston. Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Friday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Waidmann officiating. Interment will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Fremont.
