Wanda M. Brown

September 22, 1916 — March 29, 2013

God reclaimed a precious gift that he loaned us after 96 years, on Good Friday, March 29 Wanda M. Brown went back to GOD, where she has always been destined to be. This after touching so many hearts. She died peacefully with family by her side at her residence in Port Clinton, She was born September 22, 1916 in Salem Township, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Hattie (Floro) Minier. On February 8 1937 she married the late Jack C. Brown. Grandma Wanda always had various jobs throughout Ohio. She met Jack, married and had two beautiful children. When the kids were older, Grandma went back to work, mostly in the food service business. Nobody knows when or how she perfected her Chocolate -Chip Cookies, but she was loved and well known for baking and sharing. Gramma worked last at Floro's Restaurant in Tousaint. She then began her devotion to her Grandson Matt and his then wife, Mary. There are three very thankful great grandchildren, Nathan, Ryan and Kiya will miss their Grandma who lived with them for the past 24 years. Cooking, cleaning and helping to raise the children was Gramma's passion and mission, always having them first in her life. Grandma was always known for being very unselfish. Grandma also volunteered for the Red Cross blood drives for over 25 years. She was given the Distinguished Volunteer Award for her service in 1999. She loved her number puzzles, crocheting and making doileys. Family dogs ended up with Grandma also. Kiya published a story about Gram's knack of talking with the animals (Grandma Doolittle). Gram's faith started with the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints. Her faith was in her heart, but in her final years she loved attending the The Chapel in Sandusky with her Granddaughter, Mary. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Son Clark Brown, Grandson Allan Carter, Brothers Russell and John Minier, and Sisters Nana Adams and Margaret Rahrs. Gramma is survived by her Daughter: Barbara Carter, New Smyrna, Florida; Daughter-in-law: Sue Brown, Port Clinton; Grandchildren: Matt, Mike, Renee, James, and LeeAnn; ten Great-Grandchildren and five Great-Great-Grandchildren.
