Walter J. Widmer

Walter J. Widmer, 74, of Oak Harbor died suddenly at his home Saturday, August 22, 2009. He was born November 4, 1934 in Millbury, OH to the late Claude and Mildred (Thomas) Widmer. He was a 1952 graduate of Clay High School, Oregon, OH. On December 19, 1953 he married the former Mary Quetschke and she survives. Walter retired in 1991 as an electrician from L.O.F. in Toledo, OH. He was a member of Oak Harbor United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary; children: Terry (Debra) Widmer of Graytown, OH, Lorie (Thomas) Ambrose of Loudenville, OH, and Kent (Kathy) Widmer of Oak Harbor. Also surviving are brothers: Will Widmer of Walbridge, OH, George and Neil Widmer both of Tennessee; sister Betty Ivasfalean of Florida, 7 grandchildren and 2 1/2 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Claude and Dean Widmer and sister Jean Sadler. There will be no public services for Walter. Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial Contributions are being directed to St. Jude Childrens Research.
