Walter J. Lehrman

"Tiny" Walter J. Lehrman, 74 of Elmore died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born October 17, 1934 in Decatur, IN to the late Oscar and Gladys (Row) Lehrman. Tiny was a graduate of Decatur High School and worked for General Electric, in Decatur, as a Small Engine Inspector retiring in 1989. On April 9, 1988 he married the former Beverly (Weyandt) Calhoun and she survives. He had attended St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, OH before his health declined. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge for the past 56 years. He was most recently a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie No 712 in Fremont, OH. Walter was a Life-long farmer who enjoyed being outdoors. He loved to travel, and talk about tractors epically attending S.C.R.A.P. and tractor pulls. Survivors include his wife Beverly of Elmore, step-sons: Timmothy (Cindy) and Randall Calhoun both of Elmore; step-daughters: Suzanne (Donald) Applegate of Genoa, OH, Barbara (Michael) Dille of Curtice, OH, Peggy (Russell) Krumnow of Oak Harbor, OH, Karen Baxter of Baxter Springs, KS, and Darlene (Paul) Wade of Virginia Beach, VA; brother Fred (Ruby) Lehrman of Decatur, IN; sister Ann (Robert) Chandler of Fort Wayne, IN ; grandchildren: Donnie, Kimberly, Darrick, Brad, Beth, Jeremiah, Joshua, Erin, Misty, Amanda, and Nicole; 16 great-grandchildren; and nephews Ronald Schinnerer of Boise, ID and Roger Schinnerer of Decatur, IN. He was preceded in death by step- son Terry Calhoun and step- daughter- in- law Michele Calhoun. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-9pm with the family present from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore. Funeral Services will be held at 11am Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clay Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association or the Eagles Lodge.
