Vonda M. Genzman, 94, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. A lifelong Oak Harbor resident, Vonda was born on January 22, 1916, a daughter of the late John & Mary (Hall) Schultz. Many years ago, she worked as a tomato sorter for the former J. Weller Company, Oak Harbor. Vonda then worked for several area meat and food stores including the former Sharp's Meat Market, the former Family Food Market, and retired from Hasselbach's Meats, Inc. when she was in her 80's. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, and was active for many years in the Auxiliary of American Legion Post #114, Oak Harbor. Vonda greatly enjoyed meeting and talking to people and was well known in the community for her friendliness. On July 1, 1941, Vonda married Paul O. Genzman, and he preceded her in death on January 13, 1980. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Donald) Kreager, Oak Harbor; grandchildren, Randy (Nancy) Kreager, Jeff (Deb) Kreager, John (Laurie) Kreager, and Mary (Dave) Buehler; great-grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) Schimmoeller, Matthew (Michelle) Kreager, Josh (Toni Bartolo) Kreager, Sheenah (Mark Baumgartner) Kreager, Kyle Kreager, Derek Kreager, Logan Buehler, and Chloe Buehler; and great-great grandchildren, Luke, Isaac, Tatum, Keaton, and Abigail. Vonda was preceded in death by a son, Randall Lee; grandson, Jay Paul Kreager; brothers, Chester Schultz and Alfred Schultz; sisters, Augusta Rauch, Marie Overmyer, Loretta Ohm, and Jeanette St. Clair. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. Sunday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church where friends may call after 10 A.M. Monday. Rev. David Tinker will officiate and interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio; Riverview Auxiliary, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
