Virginia R. Kelly

Virginia R. Kelly, 90, of Port Clinton, died Tuesday January 27, 2009 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center. She was born March 5, 1918 in Willis, Kansas, the daughter of Francis W. and Greeta (Koger) White. On July 11, 1942 she married George Daniel "Dan" Kelly and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1978. Virginia was a graduate of St. Joe's Hospital School of Nursing in St. Joe's MO. She was later a homemaker and a life member and past president of the Michigan Garden Club Association and a lifetime member of the National Garden Club Association. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Surviving are her daughters Connie (Jim) Snyder of Catawba Island and Camilla J. (Michael) Carmody of Jackson, MI; sons Bernard Stephen Kelly of Sacramento, CA, and Bruce William (Judi) Kelly of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren Sean, Ryan and Kevin Kelly, Jim and Kelly Snyder, Tim and Brian Carmody, Megan Massey, Mary Catherine Knowles and William H. Kelly; great grandchildren Riley, Avery and Logan Kelly, Carson Snyder and Jayden Knowles, a sister-in-law Virginia White of Lawrence, KS and a special friend Arden Westover of Monroe, MI. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Robert A. White, and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 9 11 am Saturday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton with prayer services at 11 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 at the Immaculate Conception Church celebrated by the Rev. John C. Missler. Burial will be later in the St. Francis Cemetery at St. Paul, KS.
