Virginia M. Tokar, 78, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton. She was born on July 28, 1931 in Genoa, Ohio, the daughter of the late Chester and Susie (Naggie) Ranes. On October 15, 1947 she married John E. Tokar and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1993. Virginia worked in the retail industry for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Sandusky Chapter. She enjoyed crocheting and doing plastic art, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children: Dan (Cheryl) Tokar, of Talmadge, Ohio; Barb (Chuck) Lapchynski, of Port Clinton; Chet (Cheryl) Tokar, or Orlando, Florida and Annette (Paul) Wears, of Havelock, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Mary Stahl, of Bradner, Ohio; Marsha (Truman) Sutherland, of Port Clinton and Gloria (Jim) Calipetro, of Bullhead City, Arizona. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 11-2 and 6-8 PM at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19 at 11:00 AM with additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Tokar Memorial Fund.
