Virginia J. Genzman

Virginia J. Genzman, 97, of Port Clinton, Ohio, and formerly of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. She was born on May 21, 1915 in Ludlow, Kentucky to Arvel & Edith (Cooper) Allensworth. On May 31, 1935, she married Wilbur Genzman in Oak Harbor, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 1979. Virginia was an active member of Gypsum Community Church, Gypsum, Ohio, and was a past Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout leader. She retired from GTE in 1980. Virginia is survived by her sons, Allen Genzman, Oak Harbor, and Dennis Genzman, Tucson, Arizona; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; a half-sister, Betty Brengelman, Wayne, Pennsylvania, nieces and nephews. Virginia's family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Thursday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Ottawa County.
