Virginia Bruner

Virginia Bruner, 86, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. She was born on December 23, 1921, in Fremont, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold and Gladys (Moll) Steiger. On June 20, 1942, she married Jerry Bruner and he preceded her in death on September 10, 1996. In her younger years, Virginia worked as a telephone operator in the Port Clinton area. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, where she was active in Sunday School; she was a member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club and was a former Girl Scout Leader. Virginia enjoyed being outside working in her garden, as well as mowing the grass. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Vicki (Ray) Brough and Lindi (Todd) Finke, both of Port Clinton; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Bill) Lowe, Port Clinton; Stacie (Rich) Gillum, Marblehead; Sarah (Levi) Joseph, Port Clinton; Rae Brough (Andy Suter), Port Clinton; Sandi (Ken) Gresh, Michigan; Teri (Paul) Marsden, Marblehead; eleven great-grandchildren: Ashley Brough, Amanda & Alex Suter, Emerson & Keegan Lowe, Garrett & Ethan Gresh, Connor, Cameron, & Claudia Gillum, and Steele Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Jeffrey John Bruner, and a brother, Harold Steiger. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 135 Adams Street, Port Clinton from 9-11 A.M. where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader will officiate, and interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bell Tower Fund at Trinity United Methodist Church.
