Violet Mattingly, 81, of Marblehead, OH peacefully made her journey to heaven on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was born February 6, 1944 in Church Hill, TN.
Violet’s journey has now reunited her with her loving parents, Henderson “Tut” and Minnie Wallen, her son, William “Rusty” Mattingly as well as countless more family, loved ones and friends. She is lovingly remembered and will be forever cherished by her daughter: Martha “Martie” (Joseph) Deak of Port Clinton, OH; grandchildren: Trisha (Michael) Russell of Portage, MI, Dustin (Michelle) Mattingly of Oak Harbor, OH; great-grandchildren: Hayden, Liam, Landon and Amira; sister: Judy (Glen) Minton of Marblehead, OH and of course many more family members and friends, who each share their own special bond with her.
Violet loved to be involved in her family’s special occasions, making sure they each knew how much she loved them. She loved watching and listening to church sermons and enjoyed “good ole” country/blues and blue grass music. “The Best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.”
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH with visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township.
