Vincent J Stayancho

Vincent J. Stayancho, Sr., 91, of Marblehead, Ohio died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on November 25, 1921 in Marblehead, the son of the late John and Barbara (Martin) Stajanco. Vince was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country during World War II. On October 15, 1949 he married Marian Gresh and she survives. Vince worked in the maintenance department at Biro Manufacturing in Marblehead for 45 years until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead. He enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, carving wood ducks, making birdhouses, especially martin houses, and most importantly, he enjoyed going to his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Survivors include his wife: Marian; children: Barb (Ron) Cooley, Marblehead; Tom (Janet) Stayancho, Fremont, Ohio; Mary Jean Roth, Marblehead; Jim (Vickie) Stayancho, Marblehead; Joanie (Dominic) Umek, Avon Lake, Ohio; Vince (Terry) Stayancho, Jr., Wellington, Ohio; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren; sister: Dorothy Kavulic, Cleveland, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law: Chris Roth; infant brother: Stephen; sisters: Mary Adams, Frances Kuzma, Margaret Lucas; and brothers: John and Joseph. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 2-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 East Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Daniel J. Ring, on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Marblehead. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Stein Hospice.
