Verneda A. Henry

Verneda A. Henry, 91, of Fremont, OH died Friday, April 4, 2014. She was born September 24, 1922 in Port Clinton, Ohio to the late Charles & Gertrude (Milhan) Lorensen. On February 22, 1941, she married Joseph N. Henry who preceded her in death on January 24, 1997. Besides being a farm wife, she retired from Standard Products in Port Clinton where she worked 36 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Salem Township, where she was member of the Rebecca Circle. She loved to attend auction sales and collect antique glassware. She was also a great cook who loved to bake and can fruits and vegetables from her garden. Survivors include her daughters: Joanne O'Quinn of Virginia and Juanita Sue Holt of Curtice, OH; grandchildren: Denise Moles, Christina (Matthew) Nutt, Karla (Mark) McHughes, LeeAnn (David) Giles, Jennifer Holt and Ryan Holt; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Nelson C. Henry; brothers, Clifford and Grayson Lorensen; sisters, Alfreda Hefflinger, Elda Herringshaw, and Alverda Petersen. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 P.M. at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor SE Road, Oak Harbor with Rev. Cheryl Wessel officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Township Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
