Verna Lacer

Verna Rose Lacer, 85, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Springview Manor, Lima, OH. She was born September 8, 1936 in Gypsum, OH the daughter of Norris and Hazel (McClure) Rickner. She married Philip M. Lacer on October 23, 1954 and he survives. Verna worked at Standard Products, U.S. Gypsum and Magruder Hospital. She enjoyed bingo, quilting and making fresh apple fritters. Surviving are her husband: Philip; children: Rex A. Lacer of Milan, Victoria (Kevin O’Quinn) Laurents of Port Clinton, Vel (John) Niess of Fairfield, Philip A. Lacer of Port Clinton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother: Larry Rickner of Florida; sisters: Sharon Cover of Florida and Janice Meggitt of Marblehead, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Harold Rickner, Norvel Rickner, Alvin Rickner, Jake Rickner; sisters: Betty Young, Arlene Goff, Bernice Nagy, Alma Chaffin, LaReah Rickner, Joyce Rickner, Wanda “Butchie” Cover. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to ALS Foundation.
