Vera Mae Gulau, 80, of Marblehead, OH died August 6, 2009 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. She was born August 2, 1929, the daughter of the late Rueben and Wilma (Apling) Fillmore. She married Paul Gulau on June 26, 1948 and he survives. Mrs. Gulau was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury where she was active cooking for church activities and was also a prior member of the Altar Guild. She graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1947 and enjoyed crafts, gardening and playing her guitar. Surviving is her husband: Paul; sons: Dale (Davina) Gulau of Graytown, Mark (Jean White) Gulau of Gypsum; daughter: Chris (Eric) Millinger of Oak Harbor; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; brother: Vern Fillmore of Catawba Island; sister: Jeanne Huskey of Port Clinton. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Paulette Druyor-Slauterbeck and her infant sister: Roberta. Fillmore. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 10, 2009. Rev. Chris Young will officiate, and burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
