Vera A. Garrard-Tracey

Vera A. Garrard-Tracey, 94, of Marblehead, OH died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Aspen Grove, Lambertville, MI. She was born May 12, 1923 in Loretta, TN the daughter of Boyd and Ruth (Mabay) Smith. She married Dempsey "Bud" Garrard in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1969. She later married John Tracey in 1982 and he survives. Vera worked at Ford Motor Co. Sandusky, Lakeside Laundromat and Cedar Point Hotel Breakers. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she was active in the ladies group. She was also a member of the Stanley J. Jadwisiak Post 7572 Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Marblehead, OH. She enjoyed crocheting and making her famous chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. Surviving are her second husband: John; daughter: Jacqueline (Paul) Hogan of Toledo; son: Michael (Debbie) Garrard of Marblehead; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; step sons: Mike (Chong Leng) Tracey of Illinois, Bill (Kim Johnson) Tracey of Port Clinton, John Tracey of Tiffin, OH; six step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Bud and her sisters: Christine Foust and Mary Frances Smith. Visitation will be held Monday, December 11, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. LakesideMarblehead, OH where V.F.W. Auxiliary prayer services will be conducted at 7:00 pm Monday evening. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Lakeside United Methodist Church, 450 Central Ave. Lakeside, OH with Reverend Vern Shepherd officiating. Interment will be in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township. Memorial contributions may be given to Lakeside United Methodist Church or V.F.W. Post 7572 Auxiliary.
