Twila A Wrye

Twila A. Wrye, 78, of Port Clinton, died Saturday morning at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. She was born November 9, 1929 in Oxford, Iowa, the daughter of Leroy and Adelia (Laskey) Henderson. Twila was the Valedictorian of her high school class and was a 2 year all state basketball champion. She was a charter member and 34 year member of the Catawba Baptist Church and currently a member of the Port Clinton Baptist Church. She loved to sew and was a great cook and a great mother and grandmother. In her later years, she took up golfing until she was no longer able to play. Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Duane Wrye whom she married on May 1, 1949; daughters Ann (Mike) Yamrick of Catawba Island and Dr. Alice (Barry) Cook of Cleveland; Grandchildren Brian (Corina) Paulsen of Fremont, Doug (Connie) Holly of Amherst, Tim Holly, Esq. of DE, Michelle (Allan) Miller of Oak Harbor and Kristen (Jeremy) Fahl of Cleveland; great grandchildren Kyle, Alaina and Bella Paulsen, Michael and Robert Holly, Stephanie Sivinski, and Bishop, Alexis and Mercedes Fahl; and a sister Carolyn Lee of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Patricia Dunham. Visitation will be held from 6 8 pm Monday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, and from 12 1 pm Tuesday at the Port Clinton Baptist Church, 978 South Limestahl Road, Port Clinton. Funeral Service will begin at 1 pm Tuesday with the Rev. Gene Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
