Thomas R. Hurrell, 81 of Oak Harbor, OH died Monday, April 26, 2021 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born October 23, 1939 in Jacksonville, FL to the late James and Faye (Zehner) Hurrell. He was a 1957 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during peace time. On October 21, 1961 he married the former Suzanne Denhart and she survives. Tom retired as a Journeyman Iron Worker Local #55 out of Toledo, OH. He was also a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. He was active in the Oak Harbor Athletic Boosters and served the Village of Oak Harbor on the Tree Commission. As a good friend and active AA participant, he helped many. Following retirement he worked at the Oak Harbor Golf Course for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife Sue; daughter Audra Arebaugh; son Rob Hurrell; grandchildren Madeline Jividen and Evan Hurrell; sisters Karen Wells and Vicki (Jim) Bloom all of Oak Harbor. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffery Hurrell and brother Stephen Hurrell. A Memorial Service will begin at 4pm on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where the family will receive friends beginning at 3pm under the direction of the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider: Michael J.
