Thomas Paul Butler, Jr., 85, of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH, Punta Gorda, FL, Loudenville, OH, and Berea, OH passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital in Avon, OH. He was born on January 20, 1933 in Mansfield, Ohio, the son of the late Thomas and Mary Alice (Hagg) Butler, Sr. He married Nancy Hite on June 25, 1955 and she preceded him in death on August 6, 2003. Tom was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the reserves. He worked as an attorney for Key Bank in Cleveland, Ohio until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, Florida. He also held memberships in the United States Power Squadron; Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club and Punta Gorda Boat Club. He enjoyed traveling and boating, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his daughter, Barbara (Wayne Goodwin) Butler, Columbus, OH; sons, Thomas (Julia) Butler III, Loudonville, OH, John Butler, Berea, OH, Michael Butler and Stephen Butler, both of Marblehead, OH; grandchildren, Thomas (Jordan) Butler IV, Daniel Butler, Lindsay (Andrew) Aldrich, Sarah (Thomas) Kiersey, Ryan Butler; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Thomas "Finn" Butler V, and James "Bo" Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and brother, James Butler. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 9 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead, Ohio, with Father James Brown officiating. A light luncheon will be held in the parish hall immediately following the mass. Burial will be held at 2:30 pm at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Loudonville, OH.
