Thomas "Gibby" Giblin

Thomas Patrick “Gibby” Giblin, 76, of South Bass Island, passed away peacefully March 23, 2024 while in the care of hospice. He was born January 20,1948 to Mr and Mrs Leo Giblin of Amherst, Ohio. In his early years, he was a history teacher, also working as a prison guard while on breaks from school. He was extremely proud of his degree from Miami of Ohio.

He found his way to SBI, a place he called home. Here he will always be remembered as a nomad and handyman; helping many with island projects along the way. He loved to cook. He often bragged about his chicken paprika, saying “I’ll make it for you sometime.”

Gibby was always a joker and charmer. He was quick with a smile or practical joke. He loved to dance with all the girls. His Irish charm was always shining through.
