THOMAS EDWARD LEFKOWSKI passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at his residence at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky Ohio. He was born on April 21, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio. Beloved father of Thomas R. and Timothy and loving grandfather of Shyla, Karissa, Lincoln, and Liam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irene. Dearest brother of Marguerite Kramarz (deceased) and Susan Lefkowski. Uncle of many. Tom served as a police patrolman with the Brecksville, Ohio Police Department from 1968-1991 and Chief of Police of Marblehead, Ohio from 1993-1995. Tom served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as Air Policeman based at Lackland AFB Texas, Kadena AFB Okinawa, Glasgow AFB Montana and Anderson AFB Guam. Upon his retirement, Tom worked part time in sales at Marblehead Golf Carts. He moved to the Ohio Veterans Home in July 2015. Tom enjoyed playing cards and bingo with fellow residents and watching the Cleveland Browns. He had a fondness for the Marblehead Lighthouse and displayed LTHOS on his license plate. He was a member of the VFW Post 7572 in Marblehead, American Legion Post 83 and Amvets Post 17 both in Sandusky. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Ohio Veterans Home for providing utmost care and compassion for Tom. Per Tom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and his cremains will be buried in the National Cemetery in Spokane, WA. Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead is handling the arrangements.
