Thomas E. Allen

Thomas Edgar Allen, 78, of Port Clinton died September 20, 2013 at Riverview Health Care Campus. He was born on November 17, 1934 at Clyde, OH, the son of Dale and Helen (Stoner) Allen. Tom was a graduate of Port Clinton High School and most of his career was working as a lineman and supervisor for the Ohio Edison Company. He loved hunting and fishing and spent countless hours on Lake Erie. To him, Lake Erie was like a "second home". He was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, rarely missing a worship service. He also volunteered at the church, especially at the Men's Prayer Breakfast and the summer outdoor worship services. Tom is survived by his children: Dale (Erica Hone) of Port Clinton and West Virginia, Mark of Plain City, Debra of Akron, Randall of Brazil and Steven of Germany; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Tahlia, Blaize, Holden and Eli; and his friend and companion of 25 years Carolyn Werner of Catawba Island. He is also survived by his siblings: LaDonna Smart of Clyde, Ralph James (Joanne) Allen of Millsboro, DE, Margaret (Ken) Anderson of Huron, Virginia Park, Robert (Judy) Allen, Carol (Mike) Crone all of Port Clinton and sisters-in-law: Frances Allen and Joyce Allen both of Port Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Donald and Richard Allen and sister Deborah Bernardo Matthei. Memorial services will be conducted at 10:30 am Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 135 Adams Street, Port Clinton, OH with Rev. Bruce Batchelor-Glader and Rev. Ronald Huff officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, OH.
