Thomas A. Fisher, 83, of Port Clinton, Ohio died peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2011 with his wife of 60 years at his side. He was born on August 24, 1928 in Batesville, Indiana, the son of the late Aloys and Rose (Benz) Fisher. Tom was a Chemical Engineer, working at the former Uniroyal Plant near Port Clinton for almost 40 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton where he was a Eucharistic minister at mass and to the sick and shut-ins. He also sang with the memorial choir, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a member of a bible study group. He was a former member and Past Commander of the Port Clinton Power Squadron. He enjoyed fishing, boating, vegetable gardening, crafts, and sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds. Survivors include his wife, Theresa (Lichner) whom he married on February 6, 1951; children: Michael (Pamela) Fisher, West Chester, OH; Beth (Dave) Mueller, Lexington, KY; David (Mary) Fisher, Westerville, OH; William (Maha) Fisher, Fremont, California; Mary Therese (Mark) McCollough, Wolcott, VT; Steven (Peggy) Fisher, Columbus, OH; Gregory (Edna) Fisher, Mountainview, CA; Thomas (Barb) Fisher, Grand Haven, Michigan; Paul Fisher, Columbus, OH; seventeen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister: Greta Solgere, Greensburg, IN and brother: William (Rosie) Fisher, Batesville, IN. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Family prayers will begin at the funeral home on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 10:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton with Father Raymond Ensman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic School.
