Thomas A. Blohm, 74, of Port Clinton passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Otterbein North Shore. He was born March 13, 1950 in Fremont, OH the son of Sgt. Mjr. Ernest and Arlene (Priese) Blohm. He served his country as a United States Marine and then continued to serve as a police officer for the City of Port Clinton beginning on April 12, 1977. He became Police Chief on Feb. 5, 2002 and retired on Jan. 20, 2011. He also taught at five Police Academies, training countless other police officers. He was a black belt in Wing Chun Do and 5th degree Black Belt in Wing Chun Do Jiu-Jitsu under Sensei Sijo James DeMile.
Surviving are his daughter: Lori (Stephen) Levorchick of Catawba Island; son: Todd (Heidy) Blohm of Catawba Island; grandchildren: Collin (Meghan) Yurista, Noah Yurista, Tyler Blohm, Rebekah Blohm all of Port Clinton; great-grandchildren: Kahlie Blohm and Walker Yurista; siblings: Jeff (Kathy) Blohm of Fremont, OH, Carl (Cindy) Blohm of Zeeland, MI, Kevin (Kerri) Blohm of Zeeland, MI; sister-in-law: Debbie Blohm of Fremont; previous wife: Brendia Blohm of Catawba Island and special friend Jacob Ryf of Port Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ernest Blohm.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, January 13, 2025 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Monday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment with military and police honors will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Pastor Deron Fourman will be officiating.
