Therese A. Magrum

Therese A. Magrum, 72, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont, OH. She was born in Marion, IN on November 12, 1942, the daughter of James H. & Viola (Cramer) Nieman. On May 6, 1961, Therese married Vernon L. Magrum, and they enjoyed nearly 55 years together. A surgery technician at Memorial Hospital, Fremont, for 25 years, she was fascinated and intrigued with her job and enjoyed it very much, and was known to her patients and coworkers as The Lady with the Beautiful Smile. She retired in 2005. Therese loved to travel, and visited many places including England, Amsterdam, China, and Hawaii on several occasions. She and Vern also enjoyed square dancing, and playing pinochle with their friends, and raising Standard Poodles. Therese enjoyed life to the fullest and had many interests, but her greatest love was for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Vernon; her children, Glenn (Becky) Magrum, Ashland, OH, Gene (Sheri) Magrum, Oak Harbor, and Marilea Magrum-Hanthorn, Oak Harbor,; brother, James O. (Charlene) Nieman, Fremont; half-sisters, Patsy Haisley, Indianapolis, IN and Darlene Hays, Sun City West, AZ; and grandchildren, Mike Rando, Cody Magrum, Brielle Hanthorn-Cegelka, Blake Hanthorn, and Brooke Magrum. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Clifford Fausey, and son-in-law, James M. Hanthorn. A visitation and reception for family and friends will be held from 1-6 P.M. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where a brief prayer service will take place at 6:00 P.M.
