Thelma I. Overmyer

Thelma I. Overmyer, 97, of Holland, OH, and formerly of Findlay, OH, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Spring Meadows Senior Center, Holland. She was born in Elmore, OH, on February 12, 1909, a daughter of the late Jacob & Alice (Willey) Payden. On October 8, 1931, Thelma married Raymond Overmyer, and he preceded her in death on August 10, 1975. Active into her 90’s, she was a “mall walker” and also used her home treadmill. Thelma liked flowers of all kinds, and especially enjoyed geraniums. She is survived by her son, James Overmyer and his partner, James Garbers, of Toledo; her daughter, Susan Peters and her husband Stephen, of Findlay; grandchildren, Monica Peters, New Orleans, LA, Erica Peters, Findlay, and Ryan Peters, Columbus, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, Douglas Ray Overmyer; brother, Paul Payden; and a sister, Mabel Lemke. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Elmore.
