Tex Sleek

Tex Sleek, 60, of Gibsonburg, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at his home. He was born in Fremont, Ohio on July 4, 1947, a son of William H. & Ardella (Ickes) Sleek. A mechanic for Miller Trucking, he retired from Basic, Inc., Bettsville, Ohio. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge, both of Fremont. Tex liked to tinker and fix things, going to car shows with his ‘72 Corvette, and enjoyed country and blue grass music. On August 17, 1984, he married the former Louise Balliet, and she survives. Also surviving are sons, Jeff (Lesley) Willmeth, Genoa, OH, and Troy Willmeth, Walbridge, OH; daughters, Machelle (Duane) Derr, Tiffin, OH, and Cathie Willmeth, Genoa, OH; brothers, Ray (Sue) Sleek, Helena, OH, Tony (Lola) Sleek, Millbury, OH, Gene (Shirley) Sleek, Gibsonburg, OH, Ned (Carolyn) Sleek, Curtice, OH, Roy (Sally) Sleek, Fremont, OH, and Earl Sleek, Fostoria, OH, sisters, Goldie (Ned) Bowers, Bradner, OH, Ada Mae Myers, Bradner, OH, Dorothy Ickes, Gibsonburg, OH, and Nancy (Terry) Biddle, Kansas, OH., and grandchildren, Ben, Chris, & Matt Willmeth, Jackie Emch, Dakota Willmeth, Arreonna Turner, and Tana Baxter and Dustin Derr. Tex was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Wilbur, Harry, and Raymond Sleek, and a sister, Lucy Sleek. Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Sunday at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday at the funeral home with Chaplain Beverly Hart of Hospice of Memorial Hospital officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
