Terry L. Shanteau

Terry L. Shanteau, 53, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. He was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on August 3, 1955, a son of Leslie & Wynne (Hasselbach) Shanteau. Terry was a NASCAR and Sprint Car Racing fan. He also enjoyed working in his yard and playing golf, but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Terry was a long time employee of Findlay Truck Line. On April 25, 1975, he married the former Patricia Baumgartner, and she survives. Also surviving is his mother, Wynne Shanteau, Oak Harbor; son, Kevin Shanteau, Oak Harbor; daughter, Karey (Michael) Perkins, Oak Harbor; brothers, Chuck Shanteau and Tim (Veronica) Shanteau, both of Oak Harbor; sister, Wendy (Virgil) St. Clair, Oak Harbor; sister-in-law, Becky (Bruce) Sherf, Oak Harbor, and his grandchildren, Keaton, Kendall, and Garret. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Shanteau; brother, Tom Shanteau, and nephew, Bobby Shanteau. Family and friends are invited to call from 2-9 P.M. Tuesday at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where a parish wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. Rev. David L. Ritchie will officiate, and committal prayers and interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. There will be a luncheon after the service in the undercroft of St. Boniface Church.
