Sylvia Shirley Silva

October 19, 1952 — March 29, 2020

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Shirley Silva. She was a loving, devoted, kind and compassionate soul. She left us peacefully and surrounded in love on March 29, 2020. She was 67 years young. She was born Sylvia S. Gloria in Bowling Green, Oh to Nicolas Sr. and Eloisa (Patlan) Gloria on October 19,1952. She was the youngest of 9; Mary, Jesusa, Irene, Luis, Raul, Jose, Nicolas Jr and Delia. Irene Martinez and Henry (Ruth) Gloria survive. She grew up in Stony Ridge, Oh and was a 1971 graduate of Eastwood HS. She met the love of her life at 17 by knocking on his door to ask for directions and on March 31, 1973, she married Santos A. Silva Jr. They worked hard, dreamed hard, played hard, loved hard and built a beautiful life. They lived in Toledo, Oregon and settled in Oak Harbor, Oh in 1992. They welcomed 3 children into this world. Leslie (David) Henn, Derek (Katelyn) Silva and Jason Silva. Being a grandma to Jackie Henn, Cecelia Silva and Silas Silva was her greatest joy. Always encouraging, supportive, wise and kind she was the most beautiful soul to ever walk this earth. She had the patience of a saint and rarely raised her voice or lost her temper. She was a natural caregiver with unwavering devotion to everyone she loved. Her hugs could heal, calm and warm your heart. She always saw the good in every person or situation. Her belly laugh was infectious and her smile lit up a room. She especially enjoyed baking with and snuggling her grandchildren, telling stories, reading, family movie nights and meals, morning coffee talks and mixing up her words on purpose to make us laugh and say, "oh, grandma." She loved to make people feel special by feeding and entertaining them. Her tacos were legendary and If you sat at her table to share a meal, you were in her circle for life. Her love was endless. Her physical absence will leave a tremendous emptiness. There are not enough words in the English language to properly convey what she meant to all of us. She gracefully lived every moment she was given and altruistically gave us everything she had. We would like to personally thank everyone at DaVita Dialysis in Fremont, OH for the tremendous tenderness, care, compassion and love they showed her during the last 2 years. To the staff at the Cleveland Clinics ICU and Transplant wings we give our thanks. Their tireless efforts, phenomenal care and understanding in this journey was deeply appreciated. Due to the Covid 19 guidelines, there will not be visitation at this time. The burial will remain private, and A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you perform a random act of kindness in her honor. Any memories or stories that you would like to share can be sent to Tiny Treasures, PO Box 303, Oak Harbor, Ohio 43449. A book of memories will be made for her children and grandchildren, so they always remember just how many lives she touched.
