Suzanne J. Hauser

Suzanne J. Hauser, 85, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on March 11, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ernest and Frances (Russert) Ganther. She was a graduate of Port Clinton High School, and also graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. On June 28, 1952 she married Arthur James Hauser and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2009. Suzie was an elementary school teacher in Battle Creek Michigan, Findlay Ohio, and the Port Clinton School System in Port Clinton, retiring in 1985. She was a faithful and active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton, where she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and bible study group, as well as volunteering her time at the church. Suzie and Jim enjoyed gardening together. She loved to read, ride her bicycle, play cards with her grandchildren, and holding her newborn great-granddaughter. Suzie's sense of humor and smile will be remembered and treasured by all. Survivors include her son: John Hauser of Delaware, Ohio; daughters: Jeanne (Scott) Hitchings, of Port Clinton; Theresa Ann Hauser, of St. Thomas, USVI and Margie (Mike) Hauser, of Estes Park, Colorado; grandchildren: Erin (Mike) House, Brian Hitchings, Robyn Hauser, Patrick Hauser, Laurel, Eric and Ivy Todd; great-granddaughter: Coral House; sister: Dorothy Buchman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son, Eric Joseph Hauser; and sister: Virginia Sartor. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 3-7pm, where members of the Altar-Rosary will pray the rosary at 6:30pm. On Thursday, January 30, 2014, prayers will begin at 9:30am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic School.
