Susan Gerow Richards

Susan Gerow Richards, 60, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Monday evening at her home under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Peekskill, New York on May 9, 1948, the daughter of Dudley Frederick & Lena Helen (Haass) Gerow. Susan liked to spend her time traveling, crocheting, and cross stitching, but most especially enjoyed socializing with her friends and caring for her grandchildren. She was a waitress for 20 years at Kozy Korners in Oak Harbor, where she had many loyal customers and made countless friends. On October 24, 1971, Susan married John C. Richards in Peekskill, New York, and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Tracy (Michael) Lindsay, Niceville, Florida; John (Debra) Richards, Jr. and Michael (Roxanne) Richards, both of Toledo, Ohio; brother, Dudley (Katherine) Gerow, Pennsylvania; and her grandchildren, Mikayla, Ethan, Brynn, Alycen, Ashlee, Grant, Emilee, Brooklyn, Brittany, Jersey, and Lincoln. A Celebration of Susan's life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, with the Rev. David A. Voll, officiating. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 165 Toussaint Street, Oak Harbor.
