Susan E. Spanos

Susan E. Spanos, 64, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Thursday, November 12 2015 at her home. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 12, 1951, the daughter of Kenneth & Ruth (Gold) Buckhold. Susan was a 1969 graduate of Avon Lake High School, Avon Lake, Ohio, and moved to Oak Harbor in 1985. She enjoyed her job as an administrative assistant in chemistry at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Oak Harbor, so much that she didn't want to retire when it was time. Susan married her best friend, Christopher Spanos and together they enjoyed life to the fullest. They enjoyed camping together and with friends, and Susan especially liked her '67 Pontiac LeMans convertible and her '73 Harley Superglide. Susan is survived by her husband, Christopher Spanos; her son, Richard (Amie Crile) Hertrick, of Monaca, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Alexander, Gillian, and Danielle Hertrick; and great-granddaughter, Lucie Hertrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Ellen Gold; son, Jeffrey Hertrick; daughter-in-law, Beth (Nuhfer) Hertrick, and brother, Thomas Buckhold.
