Steven M. Thompson

Steven M. Thompson, 69, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at his home. He was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on March 24, 1949, a son of Kenneth J. & Joan E. (Yeisley) Thompson. Steve was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an employee of Henry W. Bergman, Inc., Genoa, Ohio, for many years, and was a former employee of Beck Suppliers, Inc., Fremont, Ohio. Steve was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Port Clinton and Fremont, V.F.W. Post #2480, Port Clinton, and Amvets Post #17, Sandusky, Ohio. A lover of hard work, Steve greatly enjoyed life and fishing, but especially loved his family and time spent with them. On November 21, 2003, Steve married the former Peggy Gebers, and she survives. Also surviving is his mother, Joan E. Thompson, Fremont; son, Kenny J. (Lisa) Thompson, Fremont; sister, Debra K. (Jack) Brady, Taylors, South Carolina; brother, Tommy N. (Kathrynn) Thompson, Dundee, Michigan; and grandsons, Spencer & Garret Miller. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth J. Thompson; daughter, Jodie Miller; brother, Dennis L. Thompson, and sister-in-law, Nancy Thompson. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday with the Rev. Scott Cunningham officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of St. Paul United Church of Christ or to the family.
