Steve W. Rosiar

Steve W. Rosiar, 86, of Sandusky and formerly of Port Clinton, died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. He was born February 7, 1931 in Port Clinton, the son of Samuel and Margaret (Kozlok) Rosiar. On March 18, 1955 he married Joan M. Klein whom he met while stationed at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver Colorado. The couple also lived in Germany for several years while Steve served his country during and after the Korean War. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. Mr. Rosiar retired in 1997 from Treasure Cove Marina on Catawba Island where he was the sales manager. Prior to that he worked as a loan officer for American Bank and then Society Bank. He was a past member of the Port Clinton Lions and Sandusky American Legion. Steve was an avid golfer, fisherman, automobile fanatic and he loved watching all sports including his favorite team the Denver Broncos. Surviving are his wife: Joan, who is a resident at Otterbein Northshore in Marblehead; son: Steve (Diane) Rosiar of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Brandon Rosiar of New York City, Claudia Rosiar of Port Clinton and sister Mary Stapleton of Port Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Samuel and John Rosiar. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018 and Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:30 pm. Private burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 in Otterbein North Shore Retirement Village, 9500 North Shore Blvd., Lakeside, OH 43440.
