Steve Kopchak, 86, of Marblehead, died Wednesday morning March 4, 2009 at Providence Care Center in Sandusky. He was born October 4, 1922 in Marblehead, the son of Michael and Mary (Kopchock) Kopchak, Sr. Steve was retired from the Standard Slag Company, was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army and was a member St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. Surviving are his sisters Grace Kopchak and Eleanor Chura of Marblehead and Helen Boytim of Fremont and Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Michael, Jr., John, Andrew, and Frank Kopchak and sisters Mary Shivey, Anna Semon, Lillian Kopchak and Margaret Kopchak. Friends may call from 2 8 pm Friday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Marblehead where Panachida services will be held at 5 pm. The Office of Christian Burial at will be at 11 am Saturday at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Marblehead. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
