Stephen F. Hruby, 70, of Port Clinton, OH and formerly of Cleveland, OH died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH. He was born on January 22, 1939 in Cleveland, OH, the son of the late Steve and Mary (Zarybnicky) Hruby. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. On August 1, 1959 he married Carolyn J. Hopkins and she survives. Stephen was a maintenance electrician working for Duray Plating in Cleveland until his retirement in 2007. He was a charter captain on Lake Erie and coached youth football in Richfield, OH for many years. His hobbies included camping, boating and fishing. Survivors include his wife: Carolyn; children: Rene (Thomas) Good, Akron, OH; Craig Hruby, Port Clinton, OH; Stephaine Penkal (James Evanko), Cleveland, OH; John Hruby, Port Clinton, OH; eight grandchildren: Eric, Matthew, Joyce, Dakota, Jessica, Logan, Emilie, John Jr.; and sister: Rosemary (John) Campisi, Brunswick, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and son: Michael Hruby. Memorial graveside services and burial will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, Ohio 44270 with military honors being given by members of the United States Navy.
