Stanley J. Snider, Sr.

Stanley J. Snider, Sr. 54, of Put-in-Bay and formerly of Troy, OH passed away the afternoon of August 26, 2017 after his battle with cancer and complications from surgery. He was born December 10, 1962, the son of Larry L and Ruth Ann (Hill) Snider. He married Margaret "Marge" Wertenbach on April 17, 2009 and she survives. He worked for Put-in-Bay Township from 1991 to 2016. He was also on the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department for a number of years. His hobbies included model train collecting, fishing, and playing poker and euchre with his friends. Stan always had a smile, a story to tell and if you were lucky, a big ol' bear hug. He had many friends and would always help a friend in need. Surviving are his loving wife: Marge Wertenbach-Snider, son: Stanley J. Snider, Jr; sister: Liza (James) DeBoard; brother: James (Lisa) Snider; half-sister: Mary Hill-Tomlinson; his two best friends: Scott Sullenburger and Steve Wintrow and also aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 11:30 1:30 in the Cornerstone Room at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Put-in-Bay. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Put-in-Bay, OH.
