Stanley E. Mccumber, Sr.

Stanley E. McCumber, Sr., 87, of Port Clinton, died Feb. 14, 2011 in Bossier City, LA. He was born April 7, 1923 in Shelby, OH the son of the late Forest and Eva (Newman) McCumber. He married Bernice Ruth Fluharty on May 9, 1946 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2010. Mr. McCumber was the owner and operator of McCumber's Cottages for many years and later was the manager of Breezy Acres for over 20 years. He also worked for Kirk Dairy and Esmond Dairy delivering milk. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Port Clinton American Legion. Surviving are his son: Richard McCumber of Lakeside; daughter-in-law: Carol McCumber of Catawba Island; grandchildren: Christopher (Jen) McCumber of Ft. Wayne, IN, Erin McCumber of Catawba Island; great-grandchildren: Jalen and Shilynn McCumber; sisters: Erlene (Butch) Wyss of Fremont, Marcia Danko of Bay View. He was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth; son: Stanley E. McCumber, Jr.; brother: Robert McCumber; sister: Dorothy Till. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, LakesideMarblehead, OH. Interment will be in Clemons Cemetery, Marblehead, OH. Memorial contributions maybe given to the charity of one's choice.
