Shirley May Hartlaub

Shirley May Hartlaub, 87, of Port Clinton, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 at her home. She was born January 16, 1930 in Berlin Heights, OH the daughter of George Henry and Eunice (Rogers) Knittel. She married Lawrence Hartlaub on August 4, 1951 and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1989. Mrs. Hartlaub was a phone operator and supervisor for GTE for 30 plus years. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton where she was very active. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards at the Senior Center, and following her son and husband's racing business. Surviving are her daughters: Linda Hartlaub of Port Clinton, Michele and Ron Miller of Oak Harbor, Amy and Ed Cantu of Oak Harbor; son: Keith and Theresa Hartlaub of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Elizabeth and Pete Nestinger, Samantha and Jim Henderson, Sheldon and Samantha Miller, Kaci and Shawn White, Joe and Kendra Hartlaub, Larry Hartlaub and Lauren, Anaya Cantu, Ian Cantu; great-grandchildren: Tieler Crouse, Reace & Ike White, Gabriel, Aaron & Benjamin Nestinger, Will & Kendyll Hartlaub, Corbin & Danica Miller, Charlotte Henderson. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Larry; daughter: Cheryl Hartlaub; brother: George Knittel; sisters: Pearl Smith, Joan Grossweiler; daughter-in-law: Bonnie Hartlaub and great-grandson: Lee Hartlaub. The family would like to thank Jan Meinke for her many years of care and friendship given to their mother. Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 13, 2017 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 214 E. Second St. Port Clinton where the family will receive friends in the Guild Hall prior to the service from10:00 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in the St. Thomas Columbarium.
