Shirley M. (Schiller) Crennan

Shirley M. (Schiller) Crennan, 75, of Oak Harbor, Ohio died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her family. She was born February 27, 1935 in Oak Harbor to the late Henry A. and Altha M. (Deal) Schiller. Shirley worked at the Kroger Deli in Fremont, OH for 20 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor where she was a past member of the Evening Guild. She loved to feed her hummingbirds, crochet, work with her flowers, cook, and volunteered for the Jerry Lewis Telethon in Toledo. Among raising her own family Shirley also took in 2 foster children for a period of time. Her greatest pastime was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her sons: Lee (Jan) Harder and Lynn (Doris) Harder, both of Oak Harbor, Kenneth "Dan" (Tammy Robinson) Ellithorpe of Port Clinton, OH; daughters: Jan (Keith) Cultice of Marblehead, OH, Cindy Harder of Oak Harbor, and step- daughter Dawn (Buddy) Huth of Port Orange, FL; brother Wally Schiller of Oak Harbor; sister- in- law Betty Schiller of Chesapeake Bay, VA; 9 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren, 2 step- grandchildren, 2 step- great- grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Kevin and Darrell Schiller, sisters Darlene Crozier and Carolyn Buhrow, and former husband Don Harder. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-9pm and again Monday from 4-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 11am at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor with the Rev. David A. Voll officiating. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Paul United Church of Christ or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
