Shirley M. Pryor

Shirley M. Pryor, 90, of Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio and formerly of Akron passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Otterbein North Shore, Lakeside, OH. She was born September 29, 1934 in Akron the daughter of Paul Vincent and Lillian E. (Purvis) Price. Shirley proudly balanced life in Akron between waitressing at Balaun’s restaurant, working at Irving Studio and raising her 4 children. After Moving to Danbury, Shirley worked in the cafeteria at Danbury Schools in Marblehead and was affectionately known as the “cookie lady”. She also worked at the Danbury Senior Center until retirement and then continued to volunteer at the Senior Center for years after. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her family, and decorating for each and every holiday.

Surviving are her sons: James R. (Allison) Jaggers of Akron, Robert P. (Lillian) Jaggers of Akron; daughters: Cynthia Lyn (Andy) Jaggers of Medina; Chris Matta of Marblehead; grandchildren: Stephen (Aileen) Matta, Meghan Matta, Brian (Kayla) Jaggers, Jodi (Tim) Wagner, Raymond (Tanya) Johnson and Angela Deverick, Robert (Monica) Jaggers jr, Daniel (Diane) Jaggers, Tyfni (Tim) Lewis, Amanda Jaggers, Lee (Christine) Szwast, Matthew (Vonnie) Szwast, Angelia (Steve) Hartley, her nephews John (Kim) Genovese, Todd (Beth) Genovese, Brad Genovese as well as her 24 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter: McKayla; grandson Vincent sister: Marlene Gordon and nephew Mark Genovese.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH where funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 6:00 pm. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery 2580 Romig Rd. Akron, OH 44320 on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be given to Danbury Senior Center, 8470 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH 43440 or Danbury Township Fire Department, 7870 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH 43440.
